WertelOberfell

WertelOberfell was founded 2007 in London by Gernot Oberfell (1975) and Jan< Wertel (1976), and is now based in Munich. Both studied Product Design in Stuttgart at the State Academy of Arts, a school which is based on the principles of the Ulmer Schule and the Bauhaus.

Their work ranges from furniture, lighting and industrial products to experimental research pieces for companies such as Braun, Sony, Neff, Yamagiwa, MGX by Materialise, Iker, BN Office Solution, DuPont Corian, Vini Design and others.

Focussing on digital technologies, they combine formal experiments with the logic and beauty of organic forms and the reality of product design: the right use of materials, production processes and ergonomics.

Their work forms part of permanent exhibitions and collections at numerous museums, such as the V&A in London or the MET in New York.

“The experience of working together with Vini Design is very positive for us and feels quite natural, as we share an understanding and willingness to explore and push the boundaries of solid surface and its production technologies, whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.”
